The phrase: “So much to do, so little time” comes to mind whenever I think of the new skills I wish to learn. Even with quarantine I was unable to find the time. So, I’m glad that I’ll be forced to create a firm schedule for myself to learn one of the skills I’ve been yearning to learn: Rocket League.
Rocket League is one of the hardest video games I’ve ever encountered. The goal is quite simple: play soccer using cars; however, the execution and control of the car to hit the ball and score goals is incredibly difficult and requires a great deal of skill. Although you might not think so when the pros make it look so easy when they do all of these cool flips and tricks, like in this example.
I’ve watched my boyfriend play for a few years and I tried it once or twice but got far too frustrated to think that I could ever get good at it. But now with this new approach, I think I could actually get pretty good with some hard practice time put in. So, for the next few months I will implore his help to develop a training regimen that is recommended by several Rocket League Pros to get the fundamental skills down.
MY GOAL
There are several different approaches I could take to getting better at Rocket League, but the most recommended method is to play 1v1 matches and do the training modules every day.
It’s said that getting as many ball touches in as possible will improve your playing, and what better way to do that than to do individual training modules and 1v1 matches where I am responsible for both offense and defense. (It’s also said that this is the hardest version to play, so I may also need to take up meditation to calm down whenever it gets really frustrating).

My main goal is to reach Platinum rank, which is commonly used to classify players as being skilled at the game. In addition to this main goal, I also hope to achieve a high number of wins, goals, saves, and, aerial mechanics as sub-skills. Overall, I hope to become skilled enough, to know how to properly read the situation on the field and react appropriately to score a goal and win the match.
